TEXT: GENESIS 12:1-4, 15:1; HEBREW 11: 6,8
Introduction
In the account of Abraham that we are looking at, our father Abraham was completely obedient to God in all his ways. This is why God said in Genesis 15:1 “after these things, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision….Lessons from Abraham’s experience:
Faithfulness in Carrying out God’s instructions; Genesis 12:1-4; Hebrew 11:11
God’s instruction to Abram in Genesis 12 was for him to leave his country and to go to a land the Lord promised to show him. He obeyed without questioning even though he was leaving the known for the unknown.
Relational issues with Lot: Genesis 13:6-13; 14:16
Abram had to cope with challenges associate with lot, his nephew. As God bless Abram and his brother’s son, Lot, there was quarrel amongst their herdsmen. This resulted into sharing the Land. Lot took the better part of the land and left desert for Abram….
What followed much later; there was war and Lot was taken captive.Again Abram was the one that rescued Lot from the hands of his captors. Genesis 14:16. What a great lesson of forgiveness. Abraham never took offence that lot chose that part of the land himself
Trust in His God for everything. Genesis 14:22-24
Abram believed in God that He alone can make him rich. Attempt for him to be rewarded by men was rebuffed. He had absolute trust in God for everything. He never allowed anybody to share in God’s glory.
Diligently seek Him
He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Do you seek the Lord, how diligent do you seek Him.He is ready to reward those you seek Him diligently. Hebrew 11:6.
Conclusion
God is ready to give us uncommon reward this year. Your daily obedience of Him will make the uncommon reward happen much faster. Yield to His command of holy living.
