THEME: TOUCH SOMEONE FOR JESUS MATTHEW 15:34 - 46
TOPIC: THE TOUCH OF JESUS IN OUR BUSINESS INTRODUCTION
We bless God for the sermons and expositions that we have received on the theme which has established the following truth:
· That we must be connected to Jesus before we can truly connect someone to Him. God expects us to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the people.
· Doing good to someone should be natural to us and not what we do by struggling.
· That our growth and greatness are tied to our being focus on others to satisfy their needs.
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS A “TOUCHER”. – Mark 10:13-16; Luke 5:12-13; Luke 4:40
Those that He touched and those that touched Him were never the same again. His touch brought about restoration, healing, blessing, love, peace, joy that warm the coldest heart.
It was recorded of a crude study that in 13th Century the reigning German emperor, Frederick II wondered what language children would speak if they were never spoken to. To carry out the study, he picked several new born babies in an orphanage and instructed nurses to feed them, but not to talk to them or touch them. Every single one of those babies died. Recent studies have also shown a conclusive connection between touch and infant ability to thrive.
Our business concern is one major area we can use to touch someone for Jesus and fulfill his mandate. In order to do this, then we must conduct our business according to a sacred standard that goes beyond traditional business ethics. In whatever position we find ourselves, we must realize that it is important for the name of God to be glorified.
In today’s study we would be looking at our attitude, character and business styles in the work place and how we apply it to touch or repel someone for Jesus. The bible model that we would look at is Daniel.
DANIEL AS CASE STUDY (DANIEL 1 – 6)
· Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon conquered Judah and took many of the Jews to Babylon amongst whom was Daniel. 1:1-2
· In the course of his training in Babylon, Daniel refused to spoil himself with the kings’ meat and wine.1:5-8
· Having found Daniel and his three friends ten times better than others, Daniel entered into the king’s service as a counselor.1:19-21
· Daniel was the only one who was able to tell King Nebuchadnezzar the exact dream that he dreamt and its interpretations as revealed to him by God.2:2-28
· Daniel was able to interpret king Nebuchadnezzar puzzling dream that none of the wise men and astrologers were unable to interpret.4:19-27
· Daniel also interpreted the writing on the wall for king Belshazzar of the coming judgement of God on him for misusing items taken from the temple in Jerusalem.5:25-28
· Daniel was promoted as the third ruler in the kingdom.5:29
· Daniel was preferred above presidents and princes.6:3
· They sought to find faults against him but could not find any.6:5-6
· Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den for asking petition of God instead of the king. He was spared and delivered by God’s miraculous intervention.6:16-23
LESSONS FROM THE HEROIC LIFE OF DANIEL

Incorruptible - Daniel 5:17, 6:5-6, Deut. 10:17
Generosity - Daniel 1:48-49, Prov. 11:24-25, 19:8
The outcome of all these culminated in a decree from the emperor - Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. I make a decree, that in every dominion of my kingdom, men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel; for he is the living God, and steadfast forever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end ……., Daniel 6:25-27
If each of us can fully put these virtues into use in our business concerns then we would invariably be touching many for Jesus
