THEME: DEPLOY YOUR GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 12: 1-31.
TOPIC: FAITH WITH WORKS.
FAITH STARTS WITH BELIEVING AND RECEIVING
John 1: 12 says "but as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of GOD, even to them that believe on His Name".
It is the power of the HOLY SPIRIT that makes us ( convicts us ) to become SONS and DAUGHTERS of GOD. If SONS, then joint heirs with JESUS. Faith that believes this, is what distinguishes us from others. This is Faith in GOD through our LORD JESUS CHRIST. ( Romans 8: 17 ).
WHAT DOES FAITH DO?
Faith connects us to GOD and draws down His power on our behalf at all times ( Hebrews 11: 6 ). It is what makes Him to respond to our words ( Mark 11: 22; Numbers 14: 28 ).
THE IMPORTANCE OF FAITH TO WORKS IS EMPHASIZED IN:
1. James 2: 26 which says " for as the body without the spirit is dead, so is Faith without works is dead also".
2. James 2: 17 says too "even so faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone".
SO IT IS BY FAITH THAT WE ARE CONNECTED TO THE POWER SOURCE
1. JESUS said wait for it in Luke 24: 49;
2. JESUS said this is how you have power in Acts 1: 8.
3. Galatians 3: 2 says " this only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of Faith?"
4. Romans 10: 17 now says "so then Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of GOD".
SO TO DEPLOY YOUR GIFTS
Galatians 3: 5 asks " he therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of Faith?"
IN SUMMARY.
1. Faith is the key to our walk with GOD ( Hebrews 11: 6 ).
2. Faith is also the key to spiritual gifts ( Galatians 3: 5 ).
3. Spiritual gifts make the work of Faith easier and produces faster, easier and better results ( 1 Corinthians 12: 1-31 ).
TO ALL OF US TODAY, THE QUESTIONS WOULD BE:
1. Do you believe that someone created you?
2. Do you believe that it is for a purpose?
3. Are you connected to that Creator?
4. How and when?
5. Have you discovered that purpose? ( Your gifts could help in this direction 1. Corinthians 12: 11 ).
6. Do you have His power to work out this purpose? ( Acts 1: 8 ).
7. Is your life fruitful? Do you have works to show for it? ( 1. John 4: 4; 1. John 5: 4-5 ).
KEYS TO GOOD WORKS ( FAITH WITH WORKS )
1. Discover your spiritual gifts.
2. Work the gifts.
3. Dominate ( live in dominion ) with the gifts.
CONCLUSION
The gifts of the Spirit are essential today than ever before. Use yours to enlarge HIS kingdom ( Matthew 6: 33 ) and prosper in your personal life (Romans 8: 19).
