What
is Service?
Serve
– To work for a person or an organization.
Service
– The action / process of helping or doing work for someone or an organization.
·
Occupy till I come –
Luke 19 10; Romans 1 16 – I’m not ashamed of the gospel.
·
It’s a divine mandate – Matthew 28 19 –
20, 10 7 – 9, Joshua 24 15
·
We are saved to serve
– we are stewards. Whatever we have belong to the kingdom.
·
Life style evangelism
and help evangelism are essential for effective service in this end time.
·
Pity unbelievers –
Hell is their destination.
·
Some people preached
to us before we got saved; let us preach to others too.
·
(a) Put your gifts and
talents on board as you serve in the kingdom everyday, as you identify your
territory.
·
(b) We are HIS
representatives - In our offices, places of business, among our friends and
family members.
·
(c) We are HIS extra
hands as the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 1227
·
(d) You can also serve
through giving to the progress of the work in the kingdom of GOD.
·
Be an expert in your
environment of influence. As a thermostat, transform your environment. – Matthew
5 13 – 16
·
Talk to Him regularly
– Prayer is a dialogue, not a monologue.
Be passionate about the service. Insist on the required results – Matthew
18 18
·
(a) The Holy Spirit
empowers us for service, Jesus said the disciples should wait for the
empowerment by the Holy Spirit. Acts 1 4-5, 8. The timid Peter
became BOLD. He spoke on the day of
Pentecost and 3,000 souls got saved.

(b) The Holy Spirit is
a must in our lives for success on the mission field and in every area of our
lives, as He gives us life transforming ideas on all issues of life. Romans 8 14,
Acts 1 8

several benefits to be derived in serving the Lord.

Disadvantages of not
serving Him – Matthew 25 41 – 46
BENEFITS
OF SERVICE IN THE KINGDOM/VINE YARD OF GOD
Ø
It is in obedience to
Him and you will be honoured by Him for it. He says in His Word that I will
honour those who honour me.
Ø
It brings about the
preservation of your life for more service unto Him because … The labourers are
still few and the harvest is still plentiful.
Ø
He will reward you in
every area of life for your service –You will enjoy His divine presence always,
divine health, divine protection, divine provision.
Ø
You will be looking
younger, stronger and more agile - check the generals of God even in our
generation to confirm these.
Ø
You will enjoy His
promises. Whenever the devil blocks it, use your divine authority to check him
out and claim your right from your Father and Creator.
Ø
You will never lack
any good thing because you are a member of staff of God. He is the one paying
you. You spend from the bank of heaven.
Ø
The devil and his
agents will not be able to mess up around you – Psalm 91 1. Just
insist on your right and claim it. Matthew 18 18
CONCLUSION

14 6 – Jesus says “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one
comes to the Father except by me.”

Every unbeliever
around us is a potential candidate for hell– Our family members (immediate and
extended), our colleagues, customers, neighbors, staff etc. Let us be
passionate about the salvation of their souls, as we serve in His vineyard
daily.
o
Let us be His extra
hands in service to humanity as we reach out to the needy and everyone who
needs His touch in our environment and areas of influence on daily basis.
