TOPIC : The word of the Lord
After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Gen. 15:1
He owns my future.
In the above text of the scriptures, the word of the Lord came unto Abram to address his worries and to assure him of God's reward for his dedicated service.
• God is not a debtor. Heb 6:10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.11We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. 12We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
o Don’t give up on His promise or think of alternatives.2 And Abramsaid , LordGOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I gochildless, and the stewardof my house is thisEliezer of Damascus?
o Uncommon reward requires endurance. Heb 6:15Andso, after he had patiently endured , he obtained the promise.
o God owns your beautiful future. Through the word of the Lord, Abram was comforted and granted a peep into the future. God revealed to him the opportunities and the challenges ahead of him and his descendants. The word of the Lord was also spoken to him to deliver and purged him from his fears.Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
o God is not a man that He should tell lies. His word is therefore a sure prophecy such that any man that receives and acts on it is licensed to succeed.Heb 6:15Formenverilyswearby the greater:and an oathforconfirmation is to them an end of allstrife.17Wherein*God,willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of hiscounsel,confirmed it by an oath:18Thatbytwoimmutablethings,inwhich it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strongconsolation, …
CONCLUSION:
Brethren, the fact is God’s word comforts, encourages, illuminates and gives direction hence becomes very crucial to our breakthrough in 2016. Let as many of us that would want to do extra-ordinary exploit without fear wait for a word from Him.Solely rely on Him for the best in your choice amidst opportunities.
A man that is ignorant of God's direction would accept whatever direction he finds himself heading to because the target was not set originally. It is therefore more honourable to tarry before him for specific direction to avoid performing below His expectation or going outside His will completely.

A man under God’s guidance is COMMANDER, DIRECTOR AND LEADER of men.
However, please note that the word of the Lord is not an excuse for laziness but meant to stimulate us unto hard work. If you have received His word then "sell your garments and buy a sword" because Satan fights hard any man that has discovered and consciously pursuing God's will for his life.
Beloved, God has begun to magnify this nation. Not too long from now, corruption, idolatry and occultism would be things of the past in this nation, if we pray in the right direction in this 2016.
Finally brethren, in 2016:
• Be born again:Josh18:1And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subduedbefore them.
• Be Expectant and win souls:Titus 2: 11For the grace of God that bringethsalvation hath appeared to allmen,12Teachingusthat,denyingungodlinessandworldlylusts, we should livesoberly*, righteously,andgodly,in this presentworld;13 Looking for that blessedhope,and the gloriousappearing of the greatGodandourSaviourJesusChrist;14Whogavehimselfforus,that he might redeemusfromalliniquity,andpurify unto himself a peculiarpeople,zealous of goodworks.15 These thingsspeak , andexhort , andrebukewithallauthority.Let no mandespisethee.
• Be in prayers:1Sam1:12And it came to pass, as she continuedprayingbefore the LORD, that Elimarked her mouth.
• Be word-full and praise-full: Col 3:16. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
