Topic: Manifesting the Gift of Faith.
Texts: 1 Corinthians 12:9, Acts 3:1-10, Hebrews 11:1-40, Mark 11:23
Introduction:
The
gift of faith is more than the general faith or saving faith (Eph. 2:8,
Romans 10:17). All Christians have been given saving faith, but not all
receive the special gift of faith. It is one of the three power
gifts:the gift of faith, the gift of working of miracles, gift of
healing.
The other power gifts work in conjunction with the
gift of faith (Mark9:23). When you operate this gift, you can believe
God for anything and God will honor. It is a very special gift of faith;
a mustard seed faith, a strong faith, a powerful faith, a wonder
working faith, a special gift of faith that enables a believer to do
great things for God and His people.
The mysterious surge of
confidence which sometimes arises within a person faced with a specific situation or need. The gift of faith is always accompanied by great works
of faith.
Faith Manifested
1. The disciples of Christ – Mark 11:23-24
Absolute trust in God is all that is required. No room for doubt.
2. The Woman with issue of blood Mark 5:25-34
When
she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his
garment. For she said, if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole…
Mark 5:27-28.
3. Peter and the Lame man at the Beautiful gate- Acts 3:1-10
Here
Peter we see the gift in action when Peter sees a lame man at the
Beautiful gate and calls on him to stand up and walk in the name of
Jesus. It is Peter that exercised faith and not the lame man. Peter had
absolute trust that the Lord will honor his words.
4. Paul and Eutychus Acts 20:9-10
Eutychus fell asleep while Paul was preaching and fell down and died. Paul believed that he is alive and he came back to life.
5. The woman of Tyre Mathew 15:21-28
Her
faith was so strong that she was prepared to take from the crumbs that
fall from the masters’ table. Her daughter was made whole immediately.
6. Blind Bartimaeus Mark 10:46-52
Many
tried to stop him but he kept shouting; Jesus thou son of David, have
mercy on me. Jesus had mercy on him and restored his sight.
How do you see God in your present situation, do you still have faith in Him?
Everything is possible for him who believes Mark 9:23.
Conclusion
Those
that operate the gift of faith take God at His word and put the full
weight h of their lives in His hands. Such people believe God for
anything even in the midst of seeming impossibilities. Are you ready to
exercise your gift of faith? God awaits you.
